Network Services
SoftLayer deploys CiscoTM 7600, 6500, and 3560E switches throughout the datacenter. Every upstream network port is multiple 10G and every rack is terminated with 40G of connectivity. This includes two 10G connections to the public Internet and two 10G connections to our private network.
Port Speed
Each server comes standard with 10Mbps Public and Private network ports. For servers with high bandwidth or Private network utilization we offer speeds up to 1000Mpbs.

Bandwidth

IP Addresses
Each server includes 1 Primary IP address and 4 secondary IP addresses routed to the server by default. Customers can order more IPs routed either to the server or the VLAN if required.

Load Balancing: Local, Global & Citrix NetScaler
SoftLayer's enterprise-class load balancing solution utilizes industry-standard techniques (including round-robin, lowest latency, least connections, shortest response and IP persistence) to balance traffic among 2 or more servers. It can be instantly activated and ready to configure, and servers can be added to or removed from the balancing pool on-demand with little or no downtime. Load balancing can be configured to operate locally (within a single SoftLayer data center) or globally - across all SoftLayer facilities.
