SoftLayer Offers SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
Enterprise-grade, Open Source Solution Available to All Customers
February 2, 2009, Dallas, TX – SoftLayer Technologies, the on-demand virtual data center services provider, has added SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell, to its wide portfolio of fully supported server operating systems (OSs). SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is an enterprise-grade distribution of the open source Linux OS. It will be available to all SoftLayer customers for no additional cost.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server provides the open source benefits of Linux along with important enterprise features, including:
- Microsoft Management Tools compatibility
- Support for Xen virtual machines
- Scalability for running unlimited virtual machines
SoftLayer is leveraging Novell ZENworks Linux Management for the installation and management of all SUSE Linux Enterprise Server deployments. As with all SoftLayer services, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server can be ordered and provisioned on-demand, in real time for any SoftLayer server through the company’s industry-leading Customer Portal or API. |
