Softlayer Achieves Record Sales And Expands Corporate Infrastructure
July 18, 2007, Dallas, TX – On-demand hosting provider SoftLayer Technologies has announced several additions to its corporate landscape following steady, yet ever-increasing sales. "From the beginning, SoftLayer has adhered to a methodical growth strategy that aligns with our financial, operational, and development strategies," said Lance Crosby, Chairman and CEO of SoftLayer. "This commitment has resulted in our company surpassing sales of 10,000 severs in record time and given us the ability to broaden our resources, offerings, and capabilities.”
SoftLayer’s newest addition is a 6,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Network Operations Center in Dallas, Texas. The facility began operations on July 1 and serves as the Command NOC for all internal systems and the Customer NOC for all customer escalations. With the help of individual multi-PC, multi-monitor workstations, fifty NOC engineers rotate around the clock to aid in testing and problem resolution.
Additionally, expansion of the current datacenter facilities has begun and is slated for completion January 1, 2008. The datacenter has been engineered for more than 400 watts per square foot and features raised floor and top-down HVAC for maximum density. "Soon, our datacenter will house 12,000 additional dedicated servers with a total capacity of 30,000 dedicated servers," said Mr. Crosby.
The corporate headquarters for SoftLayer also will be expanded by more than 20,000 square feet to house new accounting, sales, and development team members. The newly expanded site will include extensive lab facilities for R&D of new products and services, as well as emergency redundant NOC facilities to the primary NOC.
