SoftLayer^® Offers Citrix Essentials^TM

New Service Enhances XenServer^® Virtualization Management

DALLAS—February 10, 2010—SoftLayer Technologies^® today announced it has begun offering Citrix Essentials™ for XenServer^®, Enterprise Edition. The new service can be added on top of Citrix XenServer virtual machines to extend server virtualization management, providing integration with native storage services, workload balancing, high availability, and performance monitoring and reporting.

Essentials provides IT administrators with advantages throughout the application delivery lifecycle. Intelligent workload placement capabilities optimize computing resource usage, and rapid provisioning streamlines the creation of new virtual machine resources on demand. The solution also simplifies virtual environment storage management with easy backup and maintenance features that integrate with existing storage platforms.
