According to Mr. Fleitman, the new low voltage Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processors use up to 40 percent less power and produce less heat, while the new high efficient power supplies from SuperMicro are capable of up to 85 percent efficiency. "As the servers get smaller, faster, and hotter, it becomes more challenging to keep the datacenter environment cool," said Mr. Fleitman.
