SoftLayer Announces Partnerships with Microsoft, Red Hat and SWSoft

Dallas—February 27, 2006—Today SoftLayer Technologies, the newly launched dedicated hosting provider, announced the company has solidified key relationships with Microsoft, Red Hat, and SWSoft. "Delivering enterprise quality of service requires utilizing enterprise operating systems and applications," said Sean Charnock, Vice President of Business Development at SoftLayer. "These new partnership agreements are exciting because it aligns our product with industry-leading vendors and brings tremendous value to our customer base."

SoftLayer is a registered member of the Microsoft SPLA program and Red Hat Hosting program that provides access to a large suite of software services available on a monthly rental basis. Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Server, SQL 2005 database, Exchange server, Sharepoint, and Small Business Server are now available through SoftLayer.

"In addition to saving our customers money with no up-front software purchases, we have deployed Microsoft and Red Hat update servers for all services on our Private network," said Mr. Charnock. "This allows for secure management and updates of all software in the production environment."

Beyond the software services now offered, SoftLayer has selected SWSoft for server virtualization and control panel software. SoftLayer deploys Virtuozzo across the dynamic dedicated server line and Plesk 7.5 Reloaded control panel across all server lines. Plesk 7.5 Reloaded with 30 domain support is available free of charge on all SoftLayer servers.

According to Mr. Charnock, SWSoft's continue rise in the market coupled with the recent investment from Intel and other large venture capital firms solidifies their importance to the hosting market. "The extensive line of software compatible across the Linux and Windows environments drove us to select SWSoft as our preferred control panel vendor," Mr. Charnock concluded, "Adding these tremendous partners to our team strengthens our company, our offerings and gives our customers a wealth of options previously unavailable to them."
